Due to active wildfires affecting air quality in the San Gabriel Valley region, public safety officials and city staff, who have been monitoring the situation closely, have officially moved to postpone the 626 Golden Streets event to a future date.

The participating cities of South Pasadena, Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Azusa, San Marino, Irwindale, County of Los Angeles, Metro, Bike San Gabriel Valley and event organizers would like to inform the public at this time that the 18+ mile open streets event and all associated activities scheduled for June 26th 2016 will no longer be held this Sunday. The event is being postponed; a future date is not available at this time.

Event organizers would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to all those who worked so hard to make 626 Golden Streets a reality on 6/26 Day, especially event sponsors: Metro Los Angeles, MSRC, SoCalGas, Kaiser Permanente, KPCC, the Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority and many others. We would also like to thank the dozens of city staff, safety officials, artists, vendors and others who have invested time and energy into creating a truly special event for the San Gabriel Valley. We thank you for your commitment and continued support!

626 Golden Streets will be back. Until then, we encourage you to walk, bike, and explore our beautiful region by Metro. And stay tuned for updates at: www.626goldenstreets.com and @bikeSGV.

Morning,
As much as I was excited to run a half close to home, I thank you for cancelling this run. Please consider rescheduling the beginning of daylight savings time on November 6th, to welcome the Fall season. I know you mentioned rescheduling mid-November. However, as a runner, on November 13 and 19, I have two half marathon scheduled. I know my running schedule does not matter. I just thought I mentioned it.
Unfortunately, I don't want to roll over my registration to the other two events that you are offering. I would like to run a half, since my son was also going to run his first half with us.
Thank you for organizing this event. Please keep me informed as to the rescheduled date.

I agree with Thelma, November 6 is the best day to do the half marathon. Can't think of a better way to spend that sudden extra hour in our day.

Please let us know what the new date for the half marathon will be. I agree with the others that suggested November 6th. It's been a few months now, so please let us know. Thank you.

Thank you for all the suggestions and comments. Unfortunately the 8 participating jurisdictions and LA Metro were not able to agree upon a Fall 2016 date due to other scheduled events, activities, and staff desires. As a result, the earliest possible date will be in early 2017. A firm confirmation is expected within the next 10 days. Thank you for your patience!
